Last updated: October 20, 2026 · By Ronen, Stay Near The Venue

Most big ships dock at Barcelona’s Moll Adossat terminals. They sit on a breakwater about 4.5 km from the end of La Rambla, so nearly everyone asks the same thing: shuttle, taxi, or walk? This guide covers each option with 2026 prices and times, then the quickest ways on to the Gothic Quarter, the Sagrada Família and the rest of the city. If you still need a bed for the night before or after your cruise, our main guide to hotels near the Barcelona cruise port compares every area.

Quick answer: Take the Cruise Bus (also called the T3 Portbus) from the Moll Adossat terminals to the stop by the World Trade Center, near the Columbus Monument. The ride takes about 10 minutes and costs €3.50 one way or €5 for a day return. A taxi to the centre costs around €15 and includes a €4.60 port supplement. Walking takes 25–45 minutes with no shade. From the Columbus Monument, metro L3 at Drassanes links you to the rest of Barcelona.

Getting there, shuttles & parking

Cruise Bus (T3 Portbus)

Per the Port of Barcelona’s transport page and the operator’s site (cruisebus.barcelona), the Cruise Bus serves the Moll Adossat terminals for €3.50 one way or €5 for a day ticket with unlimited rides that day. Tickets bought online arrive as a PDF and are valid only on the date printed. Buses wait at the terminal exits. They run every few minutes while passengers are disembarking and about every 20 minutes later in the day. The ride takes around 10 minutes and ends by the World Trade Center and the Torre Jaume I cable-car tower, about 5 minutes’ walk from the Columbus Monument and La Rambla. Older guides that quote €3 or €4.50 are out of date. Ships at the World Trade Center terminals (Nord and Sud) are already in town, so you can walk to the Monument in 5–10 minutes.

Taxi fares (2026 official tariff)

The AMB’s 2026 tariff (published in the Barcelona provincial bulletin, valid from 19 January 2026 to 17 January 2027) sets a €2.80 flag fall. The rate is €1.35/km on weekdays from 08:00 to 20:00 and €1.66/km at night, on Saturdays and on holidays. A €4.60 supplement applies to any trip that starts or ends at the Moll Adossat cruise terminals. In practice, expect about €15 to the Columbus Monument or Plaça de Catalunya. The Sagrada Família is about 20 minutes away outside rush hour. Taxis queue at every terminal.

Walking

Walking from Terminal A to the Columbus Monument takes about 25 minutes, and from Terminal D about 45 minutes. The road along the breakwater has no shade, so it’s tough with luggage or in summer heat.

Metro from Drassanes to the sights

Drassanes station (L3, green line) is a few minutes’ walk from the Cruise Bus stop, according to ATM, Barcelona’s transport authority. For the Sagrada Família, take L3 to Diagonal, change to L5 and ride two stops to Sagrada Família. Allow about 30 minutes door to door. L3 also runs to Liceu, Plaça de Catalunya (for the Aerobus) and Passeig de Gràcia (for Casa Batlló). Regular buses D20, H14, V11, V13, 21, 59 and 120 also stop near the port. Private cars may drop off at the terminals, but parking is in the port’s public car parks, not at the buildings.

Tips for getting into Barcelona from your ship

  • Check your terminal. Moll Adossat has Terminals A–E and H, while smaller ships use the World Trade Center terminals right in town.
  • Buy the €5 day ticket if you plan to return to the ship the same day. It covers unlimited Cruise Bus rides on that date.
  • Queues for the Cruise Bus peak in the first hour after disembarkation. Waiting 20–30 minutes often gets you a near-empty bus.
  • On La Rambla and in the metro, keep phones and wallets in front pockets. Pickpocketing is common.
  • On embarkation day, a taxi straight from your hotel to the terminal is usually easier than the bus with heavy bags.
  • Book the Sagrada Família in advance. Timed tickets often sell out on busy cruise days.
