British Grand Prix 2027: Where to Stay Near Silverstone

Last updated: October 25, 2026 · By Ronen, Stay Near The Venue

Silverstone hosts the British Grand Prix again in July 2027, and because the circuit sits in the Northamptonshire countryside, beds within easy reach sell out months ahead. This guide covers the best towns to base yourself in, trackside and nearby hotels, official camping, and how the shuttle buses and rail links actually work.

Quick answer: Stay trackside at the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone or in Towcester (about 5 miles away) if you can get a room; otherwise base yourself in Milton Keynes or Northampton, take the train, and use Silverstone’s official £8 train-plus-shuttle bus. Camping on site is the closest and most atmospheric option.

British Grand Prix 2027 dates

The 2027 British Grand Prix (round 10 of the provisional 24-race calendar) runs from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 July 2027, with the venue’s programme starting on Thursday 1 July. It is a Sprint weekend for the second year running: Sprint Qualifying on Friday, the Sprint and Grand Prix Qualifying on Saturday, and the Grand Prix on Sunday. That means meaningful track action on all three days, so most fans need three or four nights, not just Saturday.

Book now with a free-cancellation rate and re-check prices nearer the date. Towcester, Brackley and Buckingham have only a handful of hotels, and they fill first; Milton Keynes and Northampton have far more stock.

Trackside and closest hotels

  • Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone – the only trackside hotel at the circuit, on the Hamilton Straight, with 197 rooms (some track-facing) and a rooftop bar. Expect very high race-weekend demand and package pricing; ideal if you want to walk to your seat.
  • Premier Inn Silverstone – at Brackley Hatch on the A43, about 3 miles (a few minutes’ drive) from the circuit. A no-frills, reliable option for drivers who have pre-booked circuit parking.
  • Whittlebury Park – a golf and spa resort in Whittlebury, roughly 10 minutes’ drive from the circuit. Good for couples or groups who want a spa to recover in after three long days.

Market-town bases near the shuttle

  • Saracens Head Towcester – a historic inn on Watling Street in the centre of Towcester, about 5 miles from Silverstone. Towcester has the shortest official town shuttle (around 15 minutes) and plenty of pubs for the evening.
  • Villiers Hotel – a listed historic hotel in the centre of Buckingham, about 7 miles from the circuit, with a 20-minute official shuttle. A calmer base for those who want a proper bed and a quiet dinner.

Best for train travellers

  • DoubleTree by Hilton Milton Keynes – built into Stadium MK in south Milton Keynes, about 18 miles from Silverstone. Milton Keynes has the biggest choice of rooms and fast trains from London Euston, and the official train-plus-shuttle runs from Milton Keynes Central.
  • Whately Hall – a historic hotel by Banbury Cross in the town centre, about 16 miles from the circuit, with Banbury station nearby where the official shuttle connects. Handy if you are coming from Birmingham, Oxford or London Marylebone.

Camping and glamping

Silverstone’s official accommodation list for 2027 includes camping at Woodcote Fields, Abbey Meadows and Silverstone Golf Club, glamping at The Ridings and NOVA, and the Escapade Silverstone camp. All are within walking distance of the circuit, so you avoid road traffic entirely. Check the official site for what is included (showers, pitch size, entry days), as these also sell out.

Getting there, shuttles & parking

  • Train + shuttle bus (£8 per person per day return): buses connect with rail stations at Milton Keynes (about 50 min), Northampton (40 min), Banbury (50 min), Oxford Parkway (50 min) and Coventry (80 min). The cheapest advance prices are for bookings made before 31 March 2027.
  • Town shuttles (£10 per person per day return, parking not included): from Towcester (15 min), Buckingham (20 min), Brackley (25 min), Sixfields (35 min), Northampton (40 min), Bicester and Hinton (40 min), Milton Keynes and Banbury (45 min), Oxford Parkway (50 min) and Coventry (80 min).
  • Park & Ride (£8 bus plus £10 vehicle pass): at Sixfields, Hinton and Bicester. Buses drop off about two minutes from the Abbey and Brooklands entrances.
  • Shuttle times (based on the published timetable): inbound from 06:30 Friday and Saturday and 05:30 Sunday; returns run until 23:00 Friday and Saturday and 22:30 Sunday. Confirm times before travel, as some tables still reference 2026.
  • Coaches: National Express and Megabus run event services from major UK cities to near the Luffield entrance.
  • Driving: parking must be pre-booked, some car parks are on grass up to a 30-minute walk from the gates, and Silverstone advises allowing at least an extra hour. There is no drop-off at the circuit; locals can use the Towcester Racecourse drop-off with pre-booked bus tickets. Motorbikes park free.
  • Helicopter: a shared shuttle from Turweston Aerodrome takes about 15 minutes; check current rates with the official partner.

Tips for British Grand Prix weekend

  • Book shuttle tickets at the same time as your room; they are cheapest before 31 March 2027.
  • Pick a hotel near a shuttle departure point. A cheaper room with no bus link can cost you hours in traffic on the A43 and A5.
  • Sunday departures are the slowest. Stay an extra night on Sunday if you can, rather than driving home straight after the race.
