Finding the right base for the Miami Grand Prix 2027 is mostly about one thing: how you will get in and out of Hard Rock Stadium, where the Miami International Autodrome is laid out around the stadium campus in Miami Gardens. The track sits well north of downtown, so staying in Aventura, Miami Gardens or southern Broward County often means a shorter, calmer race-day commute than a South Beach or Brickell hotel.
Quick answer: For the shortest trip, book the Stadium Hotel in Miami Gardens (about 1.3 miles from the stadium). For the easiest car-free commute, stay in Aventura near Brightline’s Aventura Station, at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa or the Hilton Aventura Miami, where the official free shuttle has run to the circuit in past years.

Miami Grand Prix 2027 dates & when to book
Formula 1’s official 2027 calendar lists the Miami Grand Prix as Round 6, running Friday, April 30 to Sunday, May 2, 2027, with practice on Friday, final practice and qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday, May 2. Session times had not been published when this guide was written. Miami is not one of the ten Sprint weekends on the 2027 calendar, so it will run the standard Grand Prix format.
Race weekend is one of the busiest of the spring in South Florida, and rooms near the stadium and in Aventura go first. Book early and choose a free-cancellation rate, so you can lock in a room now and switch if prices drop or your plans change. Many hotels set minimum stays for the weekend, so check the policy before you pay.

- Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale/Miramar – About 3.4 miles from the stadium, according to Hilton. Free breakfast and a pool. A good pick for groups with a car who want a dependable chain hotel at a lower price than Aventura.
Aventura: best for the Brightline shuttle
- JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa – About 0.7 miles from Brightline Aventura Station. A full resort with a water park and a spa. The luxury choice for families and anyone who wants a pool day after the race.
- Hilton Aventura Miami – About 0.5 miles from Aventura Station and roughly 6 miles from the stadium. A newer, upscale hotel with a rooftop pool, next to Aventura Mall’s restaurants.
- AC Hotel by Marriott Miami Aventura – About 0.7 miles from Aventura Station on Biscayne Boulevard, with a rooftop pool and bar. Stylish and slightly better value than the resort options, which suits couples and friend groups.
Resort stay in Hollywood
- Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood – About 9 miles from the circuit, according to the resort. In recent years the official race site has listed a lot at 1 Seminole Way among its shuttle and rideshare locations. Pools, restaurants and nightlife on site make it a strong pick if you want the weekend to feel like a party.
Getting there, shuttles & parking
- Brightline + free shuttle: The official Miami GP site recommends Brightline. Ride from Miami (MiamiCentral), Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach or Orlando to Aventura Station (19796 West Dixie Highway). In 2026 the free “Hard Rock Stadium Connect” shuttle left about 10 minutes after each train arrived and dropped riders at Lot 16 near the Gate 3 pedestrian bridge.
- Free shuttle lots: The official site has listed free shuttles from Lot 15/16 (16000 NW 7th Ave) and Lot 70 (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Shuttles ran about every 10 minutes: Friday 11:30 am–10 pm, Saturday 9:30 am–8 pm and Sunday 10:30 am–9 pm. Check the 2027 details before you go.
- Walk-in lots: Some lots are within walking distance, including Lot 21 (about 0.8 miles) and Lot 43 (about 1.3 miles). Check the official site for 2027 parking options and prices, which had not been published when this guide was written.
- Rideshare: Uber and Lyft use designated off-site lots, not the gates. Expect surge pricing and long waits after the race, and use the same lot for drop-off and pickup.
Tips for Miami Grand Prix weekend
- Choose the hotel by how you will get to the track, not by its distance on a map. Aventura near Brightline is often easier than a closer hotel that means driving.
- Buy Brightline tickets early for Saturday and Sunday, and plan for crowds on the return trains.
- Bring sun protection and water. Early May in Miami Gardens is hot, and you will spend hours outdoors.
- Leave the stadium area later on Sunday, or eat nearby, to avoid the worst of the post-race rush.
- Read the minimum-stay and cancellation terms carefully. Race weekend rates often come with stricter rules.
Getting to the Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium
The Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix is held at the Miami International Autodrome, built around Hard Rock Stadium. According to the official Miami Grand Prix website, there are three main ways to reach the venue: pre-purchased parking, the Brightline train with a free shuttle, and rideshare through designated off-site lots. The organisers state that all parking must be purchased in advance through the official site.
On parking, the organisers describe more than 25 numbered lots, each assigned to a preferred entry gate. The official parking page says Lot 3 is the closest to a gate, at 0.1 miles from Gate 3, while Lot 46 is among the furthest, at 1.8 miles from Gate 5. Remote lots numbered 50, 60, 61, 62, 70 and 95 are served by a complimentary Heineken Shuttle, which the organisers say departs every 10 minutes. The organisers also note that accessible parking spots in Lot 35 are first come, first served for visitors with a valid disabled persons parking placard.
For rail travellers, the official site says Brightline trains serve Aventura Station from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando. The organisers state that complimentary round-trip shuttles run between the station and Hard Rock Stadium, and fans should look for the Hard Rock Stadium Connect icon when booking. According to Brightline, shuttles depart the station 10 minutes after each train arrival, and return shuttles leave the venue one hour before train departures, with pick-up and drop-off in Lot 16. The official Miami Grand Prix pages do not mention Metrorail, so no Metrorail connection is described here.
Rideshare is treated cautiously by the organisers. The official page says all rideshare lots are off-site, that guests must set their drop-off or pick-up point to a specific lot, and that they should expect surge pricing and extended wait times. The listed lots include Brightline Aventura Station at 19796 W Dixie Hwy, with a free shuttle to Gate 3, and Lot 95 at 16000 NW 7th Ave, also with a free shuttle to Gate 3. Others, such as Lot 21 at 1235 NW 192 Terrace, are walking options of 0.8 miles to Gate 14B. According to the organisers, shuttles run at 10-minute intervals. Taxis are available outside Gate 4 on 199th Street following on-track activity.
The official FAQ gives gate times for race weekend. Gates open at 11:30am on Friday and close at 8:00pm, open at 10:00am on Saturday and close at 7:00pm, and open at 8:00am on Sunday and close at 7:00pm. Rideshare shuttles are stated to run from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM on Friday, 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM on Saturday and 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM on Sunday.
On bags, the organisers allow clear plastic bags not exceeding 12 by 6 by 12 inches, small bags under 4.5 by 6.5 inches, and empty water bottles of 32 oz or less. Oversized bags, coolers and glass containers are prohibited. Bag check is available near gates 3, 5, 8 and 14, with fees applying and credit card only. Schedules and shuttle times can change each year, so confirm everything on the official Miami Grand Prix website before you travel.

How we checked this guide
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page is when we last reviewed it end to end.
- Parking rates, shuttle fees and transport times are taken from the port’s, venue’s or operator’s own published pages and from each hotel’s own website — not from aggregator sites.
- Distances and journey times are the figures the venue or transit operator publishes, not our estimates. Where we give a distance, we say what it is measured to.
- Hotel amenities (breakfast, shuttle hours, pet and parking policies) come from each hotel’s own site. These change more often than anything else here, so confirm them when you book.
- Room rates are deliberately not listed anywhere on this site. They move daily, and a price written one month is wrong the next. Our links take you to live pricing instead.
- We have not stayed at every hotel we write about. Where we contacted a property directly, the guide says so and gives the date. Where a figure comes from a third-party report rather than an official source, we say that too.
