MWC Barcelona, the mobile industry’s biggest yearly show, returns to Fira Gran Via from 1 to 4 March 2027. The venue is not in central Barcelona. It sits in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, on the city’s southwest edge, next to Plaça Europa. That makes your hotel choice more important than at most trade shows: a good base can save you an hour of travel each day.
This guide covers the best areas, real hotels near the halls, the free attendee transport pass, shuttles and the metro from the airport.

Getting there, shuttles & parking
Free transport pass for attendees
Per the MWC transportation page, every attendee gets a free pass for unlimited travel on buses, the metro and local FGC trains in Zone 1, including trips to and from the airport. You collect it with your digital pass from the MWC app at the airport (T1, T2B and T2C) from 28 February, at the Fira Gran Via entrance, or on 2–3 March at the Plaça d’Espanya FGC station.
Metro and FGC trains
Metro line L9 Sud stops at two venue stations, Fira and Europa|Fira. From the city, change to L9 Sud at Torrassa (from L1) or Collblanc (from L5). The MWC South Entrance is closest to Europa|Fira. The 4YFN North Entrance is closest to Fira, or to Foc on L10 Sud.
FGC trains from Plaça d’Espanya stop at Europa|Fira on lines including L8, S33, S4, S8, R5 and R6. Every FGC train leaving Plaça d’Espanya stops there, and the ride takes about six minutes, per the Catalan government. FGC has added longer trains during past congresses.
From the airport
L9 Sud runs directly from Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 to Fira and Europa|Fira with no change. If you have not picked up your MWC pass yet, you need a ticket that is valid at the airport stations. Per TMB, as of October 2026, the airport ticket costs €5.90 and a single metro ticket costs €2.90. The T-casual 10-trip card is not valid at the L9 Sud airport stations, but the Hola Barcelona Travel Card is.
MWC shuttles
MWC runs a direct, all-electric shuttle between Fira Gran Via (C/ Alumini, near the 4YFN North Entrance) and Plaça d’Espanya (Av. Reina Maria Cristina, near the Venetian Towers). It runs 08:00–20:00 Monday to Wednesday and 08:00–16:00 on Thursday. A free hotel shuttle also serves selected hotels with limited public transport. Routes are posted on the MWC transportation page closer to the show.
Taxis and cars
Taxi ranks operate at the MWC South Entrance and the 4YFN Entrance during show hours. Private car drop-off and pickup is on C/ Salvador Espriu, near the MWC Entrance. MWC does not publish visitor parking details, so public transport is the easier choice.
Tips for MWC 2027
- Book as soon as your trip is approved. Rooms near Plaça Europa sell out first.
- Choose free cancellation and check again in January for price drops.
- Collect your free transport pass at the airport so your first metro ride is covered.
- Note which entrance you need. The MWC South Entrance and 4YFN North Entrance are far apart.
- Wear comfortable shoes. The halls at Fira Gran Via are long, and you will walk a lot.
- Watch for transport strike notices before you travel. Strikes have hit Barcelona during past congresses.
