Last updated: October 13, 2026 · By Ronen, Stay Near The Venue
Deciding where to stay for the Monaco Grand Prix 2027 comes down to budget and how much you mind a short train ride. Rooms inside the Principality are few and very expensive on race weekend. Nice, Menton, Beausoleil and Cap d’Ail are all within easy reach of the street circuit and usually cost far less.
Quick answer: For the full trackside experience, book the Fairmont Monte Carlo or the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. For value with a walk to the track, try the Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco in Cap d’Ail or the Hotel Olympia in Beausoleil. On a budget, stay in Nice and take the TER train.

Monaco Grand Prix 2027 dates & when to book
Formula 1’s official 2027 calendar lists the Monaco Grand Prix as Round 8, from Friday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6, 2027. For the first time, Monaco will be a Sprint weekend. Practice 1 and Sprint Qualifying are on Friday, the Sprint and Grand Prix qualifying on Saturday, and the race on Sunday, June 6. Exact session times were still to be confirmed when this guide was written.
With competitive sessions on all three days, more fans are likely to want the full Friday-to-Sunday stay. Book as early as possible and choose free cancellation where you can. Many Monaco hotels sell race weekend only as a multi-night package with strict minimum stays and prepayment, so read the terms before you commit.

Luxury: stay on the circuit
- Fairmont Monte Carlo – Sits right on the track, overlooking the famous Fairmont Hairpin. It offers race-weekend stays and hospitality suites above the circuit. The pick for fans who want to watch cars pass from the hotel.
- Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo – The grand palace hotel on Casino Square, a famous part of the lap. Iconic, very expensive, and ideal for a once-in-a-lifetime Grand Prix trip.
Walk to the track from France
- Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco – On the Port de Cap d’Ail, just steps from the Monaco border and a couple of minutes’ walk from Stade Louis II in Fontvieille. It has an outdoor pool and marina views, and suits travelers who want a full-service hotel without Monte-Carlo prices.
- Hotel Olympia – A small hotel on Boulevard du Général Leclerc in Beausoleil, about a 10-minute walk from the Monte-Carlo Casino and the track. A simple, budget-conscious base for fans who want to walk everywhere.
Best value: Nice and Menton by train
- Hôtel Nice Excelsior – A 4-star Belle Époque hotel on Avenue Durante, a stone’s throw from Nice-Ville station. Ideal for catching the train to Monaco each morning, with central Nice’s restaurants on your doorstep.
- Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée – A landmark Art Deco hotel on the Promenade des Anglais. A good choice for combining the race with a beach holiday in Nice. It is a short taxi or tram ride to the station.
- Hotel Napoléon – A seafront hotel in Menton with a pool and sea-view balconies, about 500 m from the nearest train station. Monaco is around 10 minutes away by TER, which makes it a calmer alternative to Nice.
Getting there, shuttles & parking
- TER train from Nice: Regional ZOU! TER trains link Nice-Ville and Monaco Monte-Carlo in about 20–25 minutes. SNCF lists the full one-way fare at €6.10 (€4.30 with the ZOU! Malin card), with around 65 round trips a day. Trains stop at Villefranche, Beaulieu, Èze-sur-Mer and Cap d’Ail on the way.
- TER train from Menton: About 10 minutes to Monaco, with a full one-way fare of €4.10 according to SNCF.
- Nice Airport transfer: The ZOU! Line 80 express bus runs from Nice Côte d’Azur Airport to Monaco and Menton. The June 2026 timetable lists €21.40 one way (€21.80 bought on board). Off-peak, it takes about 25–30 minutes to Place d’Armes. Expect diversions and heavier traffic around race weekend. Helicopter transfers take around 7 minutes and cost much more.
- Monaco station: The station sits on the hillside above Sainte Dévote, and signposted walking routes lead to the grandstands. It gets very crowded after sessions, especially for trains back to Nice, so buy return tickets in advance.
- Driving: Roads around the circuit are closed or restricted during the event, and parking is scarce. Leave the car at your hotel and use the train.
Tips for Monaco Grand Prix weekend
- With a Sprint on Saturday, plan to be at the track all three days. Base your stay on a Thursday or Friday arrival.
- Stay near a TER station (Nice-Ville, Menton or Cap d’Ail) if you are not in Monaco itself.
- Wear comfortable shoes. Monaco is steep, and you will climb a lot of stairs between grandstands.
- Check the last train times before you head to the after-parties. Taxis are scarce late at night.
- Compare a Beausoleil or Cap d’Ail room with a Monaco one. Being on the French side can save a lot while keeping the track within walking distance.
Getting to the Monaco Grand Prix by Train, Bus and Car
Reaching Monaco on race weekend is mostly a matter of choosing public transport over the car. According to the official Monaco Grand Prix website, the train is the recommended way in. From Nice or Ventimiglia the journey takes approximately 30 minutes, with trains running every 15 minutes. From Menton the trip is even shorter, at just 11 minutes. The organisers also note that train tickets are available through the SNCF websites, and that visitors coming from Paris can take an overnight train to Nice.
The official page states that the exits of the Monaco train station are close to the access points to the public F1 grandstands. This is a useful detail for anyone planning a day trip from the Riviera, because it means spectators arriving by rail do not need a second connection to reach the circuit area. The organisers present the train as the simplest option for fans staying in Nice, Menton or across the border in Italy.
For those who prefer the bus, the organisers list several lines serving Monaco. Line 600 runs between Menton, Monaco and Nice every 15 to 20 minutes, and Line 601 follows the same route at night. Line 602 links Nice Vauban with Monaco about every 2 hours, Monday to Saturday only. Line 80 LER connects Nice Airport with Menton via Monaco, and the organisers give its fare as 20.50 euros. The organisers add that all of these buses are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The official site does not describe any helicopter service, so none is covered here.
Drivers are directed to Parking des Salines, which the organisers say has 1,790 spaces at the western entrance to the principality. According to the official page, parking costs 10 euros per day during the event, for any entry between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. From the car park there are two ways to reach the circuit. One is a marked pedestrian route that takes less than 15 minutes on foot, although the organisers state it is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The other is a free shuttle, which the organisers say departs every 10 minutes between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Once at the circuit, the rules on what you can carry are strict. The organisers state that glass bottles, cans, pets, luggage and bulky items such as suitcases, pushchairs and bikes are not allowed, along with any object that could cause harm, including weapons and cutting implements. Tickets give access to all the races of the day, but the official page says they do not give access to the pit walk.
The Monaco Grand Prix website also publishes grandstand opening hours for the weekend it describes. According to the organisers, the grandstands are open on Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, on Saturday from 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM, and on Sunday from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Timings can change from one edition to the next, so check the current schedule before you travel. Always confirm train, bus, parking and access details on the official Monaco Grand Prix and ACM websites before you travel.

How we checked this guide
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page is when we last reviewed it end to end.
- Parking rates, shuttle fees and transport times are taken from the port’s, venue’s or operator’s own published pages and from each hotel’s own website — not from aggregator sites.
- Distances and journey times are the figures the venue or transit operator publishes, not our estimates. Where we give a distance, we say what it is measured to.
- Hotel amenities (breakfast, shuttle hours, pet and parking policies) come from each hotel’s own site. These change more often than anything else here, so confirm them when you book.
- Room rates are deliberately not listed anywhere on this site. They move daily, and a price written one month is wrong the next. Our links take you to live pricing instead.
- We have not stayed at every hotel we write about. Where we contacted a property directly, the guide says so and gives the date. Where a figure comes from a third-party report rather than an official source, we say that too.
