LAX is the biggest airport near Disneyland, but it isn’t the closest. The resort is about 35 miles away in Anaheim, and there’s no direct train or airport bus, so most visitors take a rideshare, a shared shuttle or a rental car. Below we compare the options and costs, checked against official sources as of October 2026. If you still need a room, start with our main guide on where to stay near Disneyland.
Quick answer: Uber’s route page shows LAX to the Disneyland Hotel at about 35 miles and 51 minutes, averaging $81 for UberX and $130 for UberXL. A metered taxi will likely cost more. Shared shuttles such as Karmel run to Anaheim Resort hotels, and the Disneyland Resort Express bus no longer exists. If you can, fly into John Wayne Airport (SNA) instead: it’s about 15 miles away, and UberX averages around $40.

Getting there, shuttles & parking
Finding your ride at LAX. Per LAX’s website, Uber, Lyft and taxis pick up at the LAX-it lot next to Terminal 1. Free LAX-it shuttles leave from the green signs on the Lower/Arrivals Level at every terminal and run 24/7. You can also walk from Terminals 1 and 7 in about 3 to 8 minutes. Taxis also wait at Parking Structure 3 and at the far end of Terminal 7. Shared-ride vans board under the orange “Shared Rides” signs on the arrivals level.
Changes coming at LAX. In March 2026, the airport board approved higher rideshare fees: $12 for terminal curb access and $6 at the new Ground Transport Center, up from $4 today. They start when the SkyLink people mover opens. SkyLink was still in testing in October 2026, so check before you fly.
Shuttles around Anaheim. Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) shut down on March 31, 2026, so ART passes are no longer sold. Hotels have stepped in. The Anaheim Resort Campus Shuttle serves the Hilton Anaheim, Anaheim Marriott, Sheraton Park and others for $6 a day. Grove District Transit serves Garden Grove hotels for $7 a day. Disney still runs a shuttle from its Toy Story Parking Area.
Parking at Disneyland. Disney’s website lists theme park parking at $40 a day for standard and $60 for preferred, as of October 2026. Cars park at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals structures or the Toy Story Parking Area. Disneyland Resort hotel guests pay $45 a night plus tax to self-park, or $75 for valet.
Consider SNA. John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana is about 15 miles from the Disneyland Hotel. Uber’s route page shows about 28 minutes and an average UberX fare of $40, roughly half the LAX price. Long Beach Airport (LGB) is another option, about 20 miles away.
Tips for the LAX-to-Disneyland trip
- Avoid landing at weekday rush hour. The 35-mile drive can take much longer in afternoon traffic.
- Compare SNA and LGB fares. A slightly pricier flight can still save money once you add ground transport.
- Book an UberXL or a private van if you have car seats, strollers or lots of luggage.
- Skip the rental car if you’re staying within walking distance. Parking fees add up fast.
- Ignore older guides that mention the Disneyland Resort Express or ART passes. Neither is running.
