The JAXPORT Cruise Terminal sits on Jacksonville’s Northside, about 12–15 miles from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and well away from downtown. It’s a small, one-berth port. Carnival Elation sails from here all year, and Norwegian Cruise Line adds seasonal sailings from November to April. Very few hotels are right next to the terminal, so where you stay depends on what matters most: the shortest drive on sailing day, a park-and-cruise deal near the airport, a night downtown on the river, or a beach break on Amelia Island before you board. This guide covers all four for 2026 and 2027 sailings.
Quick answer: The closest hotel is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jacksonville – Blount Island, about 1 mile from the terminal, but it has no cruise shuttle and no cruise parking. To leave your car at the hotel, book a park-and-cruise package at the Courtyard Jacksonville I-295/East Beltway or the DoubleTree by Hilton Jacksonville Airport. Parking at the terminal itself costs $17 a day, per JAXPORT.

Getting there, shuttles & parking
The terminal is at 9810 August Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32226. Per JAXPORT’s parking page, take Exit 41 (Heckscher Drive/FL-105) from either I-95 or I-295 and follow the signs to August Drive. On-site parking costs $17 a day for cars ($68 for a 4-day cruise, $85 for a 5-day cruise). Oversized vehicles pay $34 a day ($136 for 4 days, $170 for 5), tax included. JAXPORT no longer takes prepaid reservations. You pay on arrival by major credit card only (no cash), and the lot does not sell out. Free parking applies only in specific cases, such as a Florida Disabled Veteran plate or a Florida Toll Exemption permit; a standard disabled placard alone does not qualify.
From the airport, JAXPORT says its franchised taxi service runs taxis and minivans between JAX and the terminal. Uber, Lyft and zTrip also work. The drive is about 20–25 minutes. No rental car desk is located at the terminal. Off-site, The Parking Mall at 3372 Zoo Parkway is less than a mile from the terminal and runs a free shuttle. Third-party guides list its rates from about $12 a day; reservations are recommended.
Tips for a Jacksonville cruise stay
- Ask for a park-and-cruise rate when you book. Several I-295 and airport hotels offer one, but terms change, so confirm the number of parking days and the shuttle times.
- A hotel’s “Cruise Port” name doesn’t mean it runs a shuttle. Ask the hotel directly.
- Bring a credit card for terminal parking. Cash isn’t accepted.
- Fly in the day before. JAX is close, but a delayed morning flight leaves little margin before boarding.
